Koulechov, Gak shine at World University Games


Florida sophomore center Gorjok Gak and grad transfer forward Egor Koulechov both had strong showings at the World University Games in Taiwan this week.

Gak, playing for Team Australia, had 16 points and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes on Wednesday against Team Israel. Koulechov, playing for Team Israel, had 24 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes.

Koulechov added 13 points and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes on Thursday during Israel’s 93-49 rout of Mozambique.

Other notes:

Four-star 2018 prospect Michael DeVoe announced he’s taking an official visit to Florida on Oct. 7, during the weekend of UF’s home football game with LSU. DeVoe, who is playing this season at Montverde Academy in Clermont, also has visits lined up with Ohio State, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.
