ESPN unveiled its most recent recruiting rankings for the 2017 class on Wednesday.
The good news? A pair of current Gator commits made the top 100. Point guard Shai Alexnander (6-5, 175 pounds) is ranked 44th in the nation in ESPN’s Top 100, while swingman DeAundrae Ballard (6-6, 195 pounds) is ranked 65th.
Florida coach Mike White’s second recruiting class is shaping up to be stronger than his first, provided the commits keep their word and sign in November. The Gators are in the running for a handful of other Top 100 prospects, including shooting guard Collin Sexton (No. 10, ESPN Top 100), swingman Chaundee Brown (No. 30, ESPN Top 100) and power forward Xavier Tillman (No. 75, ESPN Top 100). Tillman is visting UF’s campus the weekend of Sept. 9-11.
Sexton would be a huge get, but any one of those three would augment a strong class.
