Florida’s non-conference basketball schedule is continuing to take shape.
The Gators announced that they will face Oklahoma State in the Orange Bowl Classic on Dec. 19 in Sunrise. The start time and TV info will be set at a later date.
The Cowboys, coached by former Kentucky shooting guard Travis Ford, return two starters from a team that finished 18-14 season and reached the NCAA Tournament as a nine seed last season.
It’s the first meeting between Florida and Oklahoma State since the 2000 Elite Eight, which Florida won 77-65 to reach the first of four Final Fours under former coach Billy Donovan.
Florida Atlantic and Florida State will play in the opening game of the doubleheader at the BB&T Center. Florida will make two trips to the South Florida area in December under new coach Michael White, once to play at Miami on Dec. 8 and once to play Oklahoma State on Dec. 19.
Florida is 14-2 all-time in Orange Bowl Classic games and has won five straight at the event. Last year, Florida knocked off Wake Forest at the OB Classic 63-50.
