NBA Gators shine over weekend

It was a big weekend for former Gators playing in the NBA.

Here were some of the highlights:

— Joakim Noah 30 points, 23 rebounds, 6 assists against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

— David Lee 30 points, 15 rebounds against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.

— Al Horford 14 points, 14 rebounds against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

— Bradley Beal 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

— Corey Brewer 20 points, 4 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night

— David Lee 24 points, 17 rebounds against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.

— Bradley Beal 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

— Chandler Parsons 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night.

— Al Horford 19 points, 14 rebounds against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night.

— Joakim Noah 10 points, 11 rebounds against the New York Knicks on Saturday night.

— Corey Brewer 15 points, 3 rebounds against the New York Knicks on Sunday.

In all, Gator players posted seven double-doubles over the weekend while posting four games scoring 20 points or more.

  1. UK has had success in the college ranks but many of their players have been busts. Liggins, Ortin, Cousins(talented but a head case) and Knight have not really panned out in the way they were projected. The biggest UK star is probably Rondo and he was a Tubby Smith recruit. Of sourse, the jury is still out on last years crop of wunderkind. I noticed that Patrick Young is projected as a second round pick in next year’s draft. If that is the case, he should stay in school.
