Chandler Parsons’ miracle 75-foot shot at the buzzer may not have only helped Florida to a 62-61 overtime win at North Carolina State.

It might end up helping the Gators in recruiting as well.

Watching at the RBC Center was heralded 2010 power forward recruit C.J. Leslie. Leslie, a Raleigh, N.C., native, chatted with Florida coach Billy Donovan shortly after the game outside the UF locker room.

Leslie has yet to sign a letter of intent, but has listed Florida in his final five choices with Kentucky, FIU, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State. Kentucky already has offered Leslie a scholarship. Leslie goes to the same high school (Word of  God Christian Academy) as current Kentucky freshman phenom guard John Wall.

North Carolina State also wants Leslie bad.  Fans at the RBC Center made Leslie feel welcome, chanting his name before the start of the second half. Leslie sat courtside behind the N.C. State bench.

Leslie is the fourth-ranked power forward in the nation and 14th ranked prospect in the country. Florida already has received signed letters of intent from 2010 forward/center Patric Young and 2010 forward Casey Prather. Leslie could provide a nice complement to both players because he’s a versatile enough athlete to play on the wing and with his back to the basket.
