Had a chance to recently catch up with former Florida guard Walter Hodge. Hodge, Florida’s all-time winningest player, plans to leave for IMG Sports Academy in Bradenton next week to train. He’s hoping to catch the eyes of some NBA scouts to earn an invite to a team camp this summer.
If that doesn’t pan out, Hodge said he’d like to play overseas next season. “Maybe in Spain,” said Hodge, who has yet to hire an agent.
Hodge is an internship shy of earning his degree in recreation programming, but says he probably won’t graduate this summer. “It’s something I’m going to do later,” Hodge said.
Hodge also has a new addition to the family. His son, Kedriel, was born in late March and is now one month and seven days old. It’s the second child for Hodge and his wife Kayla (eldest daughter Kailanys is two-and-a-half.) Hodge said he’s still getting enough sleep, “He’s a good sleeper,” Hodge said. “Very quiet.”
