There have been rumblings on some message boards that sophomore center Alex Tyus is reconsidering his decision to transfer from Florida.
Tyus’ father, Thomas, confirmed that Tyus had a meeting with Florida coach Billy Donovan on Thursday night, but didn’t know what happened during the meeting.
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to him the last couple of days because I work nights,” Thomas Tyus said.
Tyus is due to arrive back in his native St. Louis on Friday night after finishing the semester.
A Florida athletic department source also wouldn’t confirm or deny whether Tyus was reconsidering.
Tyus said through a Facebook message last week that his decision to leave UF was strictly basketball related and had nothing to do with grades or his girlfriend, former UF volleyball player Alli Cecchini.
Tyus was Florida’s second-leading scorer (12.5 ppg) and leading rebounder (6.2 rpg) this past season.
