Florida will play in Madison Square Garden next week for a shot at its first NIT Championship in school history.
The trip to New York City will be the first for some Florida players, but three current freshmen have experience playing on the MSG floor.
Jai Lucas, Chandler Parsons and Nick Calathes all played there as high school seniors at the Michael Jordan Classic last April. Lucas said he recalled current New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul sitting courtside.
“It was great, just playing on that floor, the history behind it,” Lucas said. “It’s the mecca of college basketball.”
