Here are some impressions from watching Florida 2008 signee Kenny Kadji play Friday night for IMG against Buchholz at the Bobcat Shootout:
Early in the game, he was reluctant to mix things up inside, settling for jump shots on the perimeter instead of establishing position with his back to the basket. However, he did a nice job cleaning up missed shots on the offensive glass and blocking shots inside.
He looks more like 6-foot-9 instead of 6-10 and is down to 235 pounds, but still has some good bulk on his arms and not-so-good bulk in his midsection (don’t we all).
Though he looked disinterested at times early, he did a nice job demanding the ball and scoring inside late with the game on the line. Overall, I see him as a combo power forward/center in college, but he needs to work on his intensity and back-to-the-basket game to succeed at the next level.
