Florida has yet to officially announce its 2008 signing class, but already the group is receiving some national accolades.

Scout.com national recruiting analyst Dave Telep rated Florida’s 2008 class eighth in the nation, behind UCLA, Ohio State, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Louisville, North Carolina and Arizona. Van Coleman of CSTV rated the Florida class third.

The Florida class of 6-foot-10 center Kenny Kadji, 6-9 forward Eloy Vargas, 6-8 forward Allan Chaney, 6-4 guard Ray Shipman and 5-8 point guard Erving Walker is expected to be announced early next week.

This group should complement the 2007 Florida class well, giving the Gators more depth in the frontcourt and more versatility in the backcourt.

The 2007 freshmen, rated as the top national recruiting class by both Scout.com and Rivals.com, have lived up to their billing so far. Freshman guards Nick Calathes and Jai Lucas are starting, with forwards Alex Tyus, Adam Allen and Chandler Parsons making key contributions off the bench.
