New Jacksonville coach Kerwin Bell said he’s buried the hatchet with his former head coach at Florida, Galen Hall. Bell said Hall, the offensive coordinator at Penn State, called to congratulate him shortly after he accepted the Jacksonville job last January.
A rift between Hall and Bell occurred when the two were reunited as coach and quarterback with Orlando in the World Football League. Hall benched Bell during the 1991 season.
“The Orlando deal, some things happened, but we made up after that,” Bell said during FSWA media days Sunday. “He did a lot for my career as a college player and I respect him as a person. It was pretty easy to get over that after a while.
“It was something I never wanted to happen, it was a tough situation, but as a man you have to go on and I always try to look for the good in people and good situations. I’ve tried to take that as far as our relationship with each other.”
