Florida draft hopefuls Taurean Green and Chris Richard lined up on
opposite teams during Wednesday’s second NBA predraft camp scrimmage.
But it was a former Gator who stole the show.
Mohamed Abukar, who transferred from Florida to San Diego State as a sophomore in December of 2004, scored a game-high 16 points. Abukar made five of nine shots and grabbed six rebounds.
Green started at the point, finishing with 11 points and three assists in leading his team to an 80-76 win. Green was sharp from the perimeter, making three of four 3-point attempts.
Richard overcame some early foul trouble, finishing with seven points and two rebounds.
“I didn’t play as well as I wanted to,” Richard said. “I didn’t get in the flow offensively early and I let that affect my defense and rebounding. I need to crash the boards harder.”
