It’s no secret that Florida point guard Taurean Green is the engine that
makes the Gators run.
But this weekend’s Final Four will be important for Green on a number of
levels. First and foremost, Green can create a legacy unmatched among
Florida point guards if Florida was to repeat as champions.
Also, if Green plays well, it will enhance his stock in the NBA Draft if
he chooses to leave after this season.
“No matter what people tell you, games like this matter,” said an NBA
Eastern Conference scout, speaking on the condition of anonymity. “Seeing
how a player performs on the big stage, in pressure situations, it leaves
Green has said he was going to wait until after the end of the season to
decide his future at Florida. In last year’s title game against UCLA, Green
was 1 for 10 from the floor, but had eight assists to one turnover, running
the offense to near perfection.
