Viva Lost Wages

OK! OK! I know I left some of you hanging without more live updates. There were a few technical glitches and I apologize. But yes, my bags did make it out there eventually Friday night and I made it back safely this morning

Some impressions from Vegas–

— The piano bar at New York, New York (Times Square) was fun. Don’t think I’ve ever heard Aha’s “Take on Me” on dueling grand pianos before, and they even played Tom Petty’s “American Girl” which made me feel at home

— Kansas fans are as supportive as Kentucky fans, and less obnoxious. Many were pretty knowledgeable about basketball and cool to talk to. FYI — “Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk” was a chant created by a Kansas geology professor because the campus is built on limestone.

— The Hoover Dam is worth seeing, if you can stand the traffic. It was about an hour and a half to travel 10 miles down a two-lane road.

— I have no patience for slots

— Brunch at the Wynn was better than the Thanksgiving buffet at Caeser’s Palace.

— If you like hiking, try Red Rocks Canyon. The state park is about 20 minutes north of the city.

— The fountain show at the Bellagio is worth seeing.
