OU softball: Jordy Bahl resumes throwing, status for NCAA Super Regional vs. UCF up in air
NORMAN — OU freshman pitcher Jordy Bahl "has been in the bullpen throwing pitches," Sooners softball coach Patty Gasso said Wednesday.
Gasso said Bahl's status for this weekend's NCAA Super Regional against Central Florida remains up in the air.
The top-seeded Sooners open the best-of-three series against the 16th-seeded Golden Knights at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Marita Hynes Field.
Bahl last pitched May 6 against Oklahoma State.
The next day, Bahl suffered a forearm injury during warmups before the Bedlam finale.
Bahl is 21-1 with a 0.95 ERA and 199 strikeouts with 29 walks in 132 ⅓ innings.
With Bahl out, Hope Trautwein and Nicole May have picked up the slack.
Trautwein leads the nation with a 0.42 ERA while May is sixth at 0.99, one spot behind Bahl.
Gasso also said catcher Kinzie Hansen, who was limited to one pinch-hit at-bat during last weekend's regional due to an ankle injury, was on track to return against UCF.
