Who is Maya Brady? Meet Tom Brady's niece, UCLA softball standout, 'most dominant' in family

Tom Brady's social media has been more active since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback won his seventh Super Bowl last month.

Back in March, he used his Twitter account to hype his niece, Maya Brady, a slugging redshirt freshman on the UCLA Bruins softball team. Brady called her "the most dominant athlete in the Brady family...by far!"

Maya Brady, a smooth-swinging lefty, connected with her first home run — a three-run shot to right-center field — of the 2021 season on March 7, prompting the shoutout from her uncle — who isn't her only famous uncle.

Here are a few other things to know about Maya Brady:

Maya Brady's softball career off to fast start

Although the pandemic shortened the 2020 softball season, Brady won Softball America Freshman Player of the Year honors. She batted .356 and slugged .699 with seven home runs, which led UCLA, and drove in 28 runs (tied for first on team).

She started her college career quickly, homering in four of her first five games.

As a senior at Oaks Christian High School in Thousand Oaks, California, she was the Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year after hitting .558. FloSoftball ranked her as the No. 2 recruit in the nation.

Brady played middle infield at Oaks Christian, but started in right field for the Bruins in 2021. She batted .333 with 13 homers and 36 RBI in 46 games for the Bruins, who won the Pac-12 and went 46-5 and entered the College World Series as the No .

Maya Brady's family

According to her UCLA bio, Brady was born Maya Ann Brady-Timmons as the daughter of Maureen Brady — Tom's sister and an All-American pitcher at Fresno State — and Brian Timmons.

While she counts a famous NFL quarterback as a family member, she can also counts a two-time World Series champion and three-time All-Star as an uncle: former MLB player Kevin Youkilis.
