An unfortunate sequence of plays for both teams brought the eventful first quarter of the 2021 edi FSU-Florida rivalry game to an end.

Florida State Seminoles quarterback McKenzie Milton (10) goes after a snap over his head in the first half. The Florida Gators hosted the Florida State Seminoles Saturday November 27, 2021 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.

Seminoles backup quarterback McKenzie Milton, who was in the game after Jordan Travis ran into the locker room to get checked out, telegraphed a pass right into the arms of Gators safety Rashad Torrence with less than fifteen seconds left in the opening period.

On the very next sequence, with just four seconds left in the first quarter, Florida tried some trickery that ended in a turnover. Quarterback Emory Jones caught a flea flicker, then threw it downfield into the arms of FSU defensive back Jammie Robinson.

The first quarter ended with the Gators leading the Seminoles 7-0.
