SEC football championship game is set: It's Georgia vs. LSU in Atlanta

LSU became the first SEC team to officially clinch its spot in the SEC championship game on Saturday.
Georgia will join them in Atlanta in the Dec. 3 game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium after beating Mississippi State Saturday night 45-19.
The Tigers knocked off Arkansas 13-10 and Alabama’s 30-24 win at Ole Miss sent LSU to the championship game.
LSU was picked in the preseason to finish fifth in the SEC West, but are now 8-2 under first-year coach Brian Kelly and entered the weekend No. 7 in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Georgia, which is 10-0 and 7-0 in the SEC, and LSU will meet for the fifth time in the SEC title game. The Tigers won 37-10 in 2019, 42-10 in 2011 and 34-13 in 2003. Georgia won 34-14 in 2005.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart is 2-0 against Kelly, both when Kelly was at Notre Dame in wins in 2019 (23-17) and 2017 (20-19).
