The Tuscaloosa Academy boys and girls basketball teams hosted Pickens Academy on Monday night, with the Knights coming out on top in both games. Here are three things we learned:

TA girls cruise to win

The Lady Knights jumped out to an early lead, scoring the game's first seven points. They would never trail, cruising to a 56-24 win.

Hill Warr led TA with 12 points, while Millie Mullin's 11 points and Willesha Lang's 10 gave the Lady Knights three double-digit scorers.

This win improved TA to 16-2, while Pickens Academy dropped to 5-1.

TA boys set tone early

Pickens Academy scored the opening basket, but the Knights responded with a 13-0 run before ending the first quarter with a 15-point lead. The Knights won, 61-23.

Sam Rowley led all scorers with 17 points, while Walker McKee added 13.

The Knights improved to 19-0, while the Pirates dropped to 6-2.

TA boys win 28th straight game

The Knights won their last nine games of  the 2019-20 season. They continued their streak into 2020-21, winning 19 straight to open the season, giving TA a 28-game winning streak.

"We just try to take it one game at a time." said TA coach Barry Sanderson. "These kids are hungry, and they're getting better each day."
