Florida stayed hot on the recruiting trail Sunday with the addition of fast-rising tight end CJ Hawkins, the Gators’ third commitment of the week and second from Tampa.

Hawkins announced his decision on Twitter, choosing UF over more than two dozen schools. His recruitment has picked up in recent weeks, with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Stanford and Texas all offering in the month of March.

Gators tight ends coach Tim Brewster served as the primary recruiter for the 6-foot-7, 220-pound Hawkins, who is unrated by 247Sports but a three-star recruit on Rivals at this time. Judging by his latest offers, that could change soon.

UF also landed pledges in the past week from four-star offensive tackle Tony Livingston (Tampa, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Nick Evers (Flower Mound, Texas). Evers was named QB MVP of the Under Armour All-America camp Sunday in Dallas.
