Former Florida running back Jordan Scarlett was waived by the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Scarlett, a 2019 fifth-round draft pick, appeared in nine games as a rookie, mainly contributing on special teams. He recovered a fumbled punt during the Panthers' win over the Buccaneers in London. He finished the year with four carries for 9 yards.

Scarlett's rookie year ended when he suffered injuries to his knee and ankle last season in the Week 12 loss to the Saints. He was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 29.

Earlier last week, the Panthers released former UF linebacker David Reese, who was an undrafted free agent in the spring.
