Traffic issues

The biggest story at this SEC Tournament isn’t the clock being used for the first time or the excellent pitching we’ve seen for the most part but the traffic jam on Wednesday morning.

Some fans trying to get to the Auburn-Alabama game that kicked off the tournament didn’t get into the stadium until the seventh inning.

Regions Park is located in an area in Hoover that includes a subdivision and Hoover High as well as an elemntary school. Gene Hallman, the CEO of the Alabama Sports Foundation, said the overlap of students going to school with the baseball crowd caused the delay.

So his solution? He wants the Hoover School Board to adjust the schedule so that school ends before the SEC Tournament begins. Wednesday and Thursday were the last two days of classes.

We can’t let school get in the way of a baseball tournament, can we?

Sheesh.
