Tiger Woods withdrew from The Players today, citing a neck injury on the seventh hole.
Yes, the hacks in the press room are telling a lot of jokes. Most of them I can’t repeat.
Woods had played the first six holes of his final round in 2-over par. He bogeyed the third and fifth holes.
I can’t help but wonder about Tiger. It’s no longer a matter of when we’ll see him at his best again but if.
HE’LL BE BACK, EVEN IF ITS NOT UNTIL NEXT YEAR WHEN YOU SEE HIM AS THE TIGER WOODS THE WORLD KNOWS AS THE BEST GOLFER IN THE WORLD.TIGER HAS THAT SOMETHING LIKE JORDAN THEY ARE SO COMPETITIVE AND WANT TO SUCCEED SO BADLY THAT IT MAY TAKE HIM A WHILE BUT HE HAVE THE DRIVE AND THE SKILL AND THE DESIRE TO SEEK WHATEVER IT IS THAT MISSING RIGHT NOW, BUT HE WILL BE BACK. AND HE WILL BREAK ALL THOSE GOLFING RECORDS BEFORE HE’S FINISHED.
Tiger certainly must have worked extremely hard to maintain the double life he was living. Just imagine how much more phenomenal success he might have enjoyed had Tiger poured that energy and hard work into his marriage and his golf game.
I love that line from Bonfire of the Vanities, “It was a great hieght from which to fall.”
Tiger’s trainwreck was almost a lifetime in the making. Could you find a more successful way to sabotage your value as a spokesman?
Tiger, the comeback story, may begin or, Tiger, the cautionary tale of human nature, may play out slowly, painfully, until he is one step above OJ in the American psyche.
I believe Tiger has lost a great deal of self confidence and I am afraid he will not be able to return to the top. He needs to continue in therapy and anger management. He has embarrassed himself, his family and the sport of golf….had it been anyone else the PGA would have pulled his license and he would not be allowed to play any longer. He has lost a tremendous fan base, sponsors and friends. That is a great deal to overcome. Find another job….!
Are you kidding? If Tiger got any better, we would have to make him a superhero cartoon character. Tiger is one of the most disciplined athletes on the planet. Too disciplined, if you ask me. He had no balance in his life. The wheels were set in motion for his extra curricular activities long ago when he was developed his work ethic. He was bound to rebel at some point. Its kind of hard to say he should have poured that effort into his golf game when he was (and will be again) the greatest player golf has ever known.
I Don’t care any more about how good tiger was or is. He used to be my number one pick and watched him every sat, sun. When I know he is in a tournament now I won’t watch it. Me personally I hope he never wins again and his wife divorces him.He is a disgrace to the PGA and they did fine without him before and they will again. I really hope Niki is not dumb enough to put Tebow in an add with this loser. Retire tiger and move out of the country where you’ll be forgotten.
