Gold star: Alshon Jeffrey. The true freshman wide receiver at South Carolina was the difference in South Carolina’s victory over Vandy, He caught passes totalling 161 yards for Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks.

Silver star: Chris Rainey. The speedster has become kind of a forgotten man in the Florida backfield, but on Saturday night he rushed for 90 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown.

Bronze star: Jonathan Crompton. It’s one thing to light up Georgia’s secondary, but Crompton threw for 265 yards against Alabama’s stingy defense and had his team in position to win the game.

No star: Vandy’s passing game. It’s bad. Really bad. Against South Carolina, the ‘Dores had only four first downs passing and a measly 132 yards in the air.

Quote: “Everybody assumes because a guy is a highly touted recruit when he comes in, that he can automatically step into college football and be an instant star or an instant savior. Well, it’s really hard. It is really, really hard.” — Kentucky coach Rich Brooks on freshman Morgan Newton

  1. Let’s be honest. Adazzio is a failure, he is dumb as a post, and he needs to be fired. Anyone who would throw the ball from their own 4 yard line under the circumstances that were present Saturday night in Starkville is a total moron. This is like first grade 101, so he belongs in pee wee football. And can we pleaseeeeeee get Tebow under center for a QB sneak on 4th and a foot? And how about letting J Phillips start doing the short kicks again please!! Sturgis has badly missed on 3 very short FGs this year.

  2. First of All, Congratulations to the 2009 Florida Gators for getting a win in a hostile environment. That’s what matter. Our defense is top in the country and we have guys that would step up when needed. To Tim Tebow, you played hard and please don’t dwell on mistakes made, we all do. Seeing you play the last four seasons at Florida tells me that you will bounce back in a strong way, remember Phil 4:13. Bring back the champion in you Tim. With poise and confidence, you will run and pass the ball when the time is right. To the wide-receivers, this is your time to make plays. If it is Copper that needs to make the long plays, just do it! The same goes for Hernandez, Nelson and Thompson. You guys cannot live under the shadow of Percy Harvin. He did it when he had to and now it is your turn. Most teams only have one go to guy at WR. We have at least 4 good WR’s and I think that one freshman could and should be thrown into the mix based on the previous games I saw. You guys have to relax and enjoy playing College Football. Let’s play with confidence, executing when it counts and not paying attention too much at what the journalists can think or write about you.
I am very proud of you guys for playing your guts out there. Let’s put it together against Georgia.
    GO GATORS!!!
