Florida fans were the loudest group on the first night of the Final
Four, in part because they had better seats than Ohio State fans. But
the lure of watching another Florida team possibly win a national title
added to the traffic on I-75 on Monday.
Gator fans were everywhere in downtown Atlanta during the day trying
to find tickets from scalpers or disappointed UCLA and Georgetown fans.
Tickets were still hard to find, but not impossible. One scalper told
me I could have an upper level seat for $175 and lower section for
$400. Personally, I’d rather watch it on TV than watch from seats that
had partial viewing.
But even those seats started to fill up an hour before tipoff.
Among the Gator fans in attendance – Urban Meyer, his wife Shelley and
their two daughters, former Gators Mike Miller and Jason Williams and
former UF assistant Anthony Grant.
