AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 15 Florida volleyball team defeated the Auburn Tigers in straight sets on Wednesday night in the Auburn Arena.
The Gators (22-4, 13-2 SEC) won the first set 25-17, then followed with a 25-17 victory in the second set. UF secured the match with a 25-17 win in the final frame over the Tigers (6-20, 0-15).
Florida’s offense was paced by a 13-kill effort by Holly Carlton. Thayer Hall pitched in 10 kills, while Rachael Kramer added seven in the win.
Carlton also notched a season-high .600 hitting percentage in the match.
Marlie Monserez dished out 28 assists on the evening, while Allie Gregory recorded a season-high eight.
Gregory led the backcourt defense with 12 digs, while Monserez and Hall each notched a double-double with 11 digs apiece.
Hall registered three of Florida’s five service aces on the night.
The Gators are back in action Sunday when the team heads to Georgia to face the Bulldogs. First serve is slated for 12 p.m.
