LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 10 Florida volleyball team rallied after being down 2-0 against Dayton to come up with the 3-2 on Saturday evening to finish the Cardinal Classic with a 2-0 record.
Thayer Hall was named Tournament MVP, while Rachael Kramer was named to the All-Tournament Team.
“This is one of those times where we could learn just as much about ourselves from a win that we could from a loss,” UF coach Mary Wise said. “As well as Dayton played and the situations we were in – being down two and to fight back. We won that on the depth of the team and some real gutty performances.”
Hall led the way on the offensive front, recording a career-high 25 kills throughout the five-set match. Rachael Kramer registered 11 kills, while Haley Warner added a career-best nine kills.
Marlie Monserez dished out 50 assists on the day, surpassing her previous career-high of 29.
The Gators totaled 15 blocks as a squad, led by a career-high six from Darrielle King. Kramer and Paige Hammons each pitched in four on the evening.
Allie Gregory led the defense with 18 digs, followed by a career-best 14 from Paula Cerame.
The Gators are back in action Wednesday night, when the team welcomes reigning national champions and current No. 1 team Stanford at 8 p.m. (SEC Network).
