Florida will begin the 2018 baseball season in the same position the Gators ended the 2017 edition — No. 1 in the nation.
UF is ranked No. 1 in D1Baseball.com’s Preseason Poll released Tuesday. Coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s club had previously been tabbed No. 1 in the preseason polls from Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game.
D1Baseball.com began rankings prior to the 2015 season and the Gators have ranked in the top two each year during the preseason (2017-No. 2; 2016-No. 1; 2015-No. 2).
The Gators open the 2018 season Feb. 16 against Siena at McKethan Stadium. Season tickets and Flex Passes for the season are on sale and can be purchased online through FloridaGators.com or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 1-800-34-GATOR from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Last season, Florida won the first national title in program history with a 52-19 record. The Gators have reached the College World Series six times in the past eight years under O’Sullivan. UF is the only program in the country to earn a top-eight national seed for NCAA play for the eighth time in the last nine years.

Gators’ 2018 opponents in Bold Italics
florida wil be very good, but the team that lost alex faedo number one? idk…
Although they lost Alex, they have 3 pitchers who are pre-season All-Americans and at least one of them is a lottery pick , if not two.Singer and Kowar should be top 10 selections when they go. The key to this team is their hitting. They won a NC last year without much of it, especially power hitting. But I think they will be better this year at the plate. If they are, watch out!
Sometimes Joe kids eligibility run out. There may be others schools that players have to leave. What do you think?
Half of the top 16 are from the SEC!
