Success translates into some serious cash for coaches who have special seasons, not only in terms of raises but also in bonuses.
For example, Dan Mullen earned a $300,000 bonus for playing in a New Year’s Day Bowl.
Here is how the bonus system works at UF with percentages based on their annual base salaries for the given year:
ALL COACHES
SEC Championship: 10 percent for all coaches
AAC Championship 5 percent for all coaches (lacrosse)
NCAA Championship: 30 percent for all coaches
BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL
Participate in Super Regional: 10 percent (Round of 16)

DAN MULLEN, football
Current contract runs through 2024.
Base salary: $3,000,000.
(Instead of a longevity incentive, Mullen has a $12 million buyout that would be owed him if he was let go without cause).
Extras: equipment ( $700,000); equipment from Nike ($350,000); two dealer cars; expense account ($200,000); airplane use ($70,000); talent ($1,750,000); pension ($33,000); academic incentive ($4,000).
Also, Mullen gets a seat on the team plane for his wife and up to four guests, 24 tickets to all home games plus a suite for 18.

ANTHONY NESTY, men’s swimming and diving
Current contract runs through 2021.
Base salary: $155,000.
Extras: car allowance ($6,000); academic incentive ($4,000).

If not that, I’d donate it to the “Keep Willie Taggart at FSU Fund”.
