NEW YORK GIANTS — Placed starting center Jon Halapio, who had surgery Monday, on injured reserve. Halapio broke his right leg and ankle in the third quarter of the 20-13 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.

OAKLAND ATHLETICS — Sent RHP Logan Shore to Detroit to complete an earlier trade. Shore was Oakland’s second-round draft pick in 2016 out of UF. Injuries have slowed his progress in the minors. Shore finished the 2018 season on the disabled list with ulnar nerve irritation and his line in AA is 5.50 ERA, 68⅔ ip, 49 Ks, 19 BB, 7 HR, 4.27 FIP. Shore, 23, had a 2-0 record and 1.21 ERA to start the season with Class-A Stockton after missing much of 2017 with a lat injury, but he was 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA after being promoted to Double-A Midland and he spent three stints on the DL this year, pitching in 17 games.
