ATLANTA BRAVES — Relief pitcher Darren O’Day was traded from Baltimore. O’Day had season-ending surgery on his left hamstring July 12 and was acquired to be part of Atlanta’s 2019 bullpen.

NEW YORK METS — Assigned outfielder Matt den Dekker outright to Las Vegas (PCL). He appeared in eight games for the Mets this season, going 0-for-18. He’s gone just 7-for-59 (.119 batting average) over the last three seasons.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS — Signed rookie tight end DeAndre Goolsby, who went undrafted out of UF this spring and signed as a free agent with the Detroit Lions before being waived May 23.

  1. Always liked DeAndre. Felt he was significantly under-utilized by Mac’s staff. He has the same skill set of Aaron Hernandez and if used right could be a very serviceable asset to an NFL team. Good luck!

  2. It really bothers me how some of these kids have been short changed. Poor coaching and under development of players that with the right coaching could have been in the NFL now. The previous coaching staff should be ashamed.

  3. Den Dekker is a prime example of the difference in playing in the minor leagues and in the big leagues. Pitching is a lot tougher in the bigs. He just needs to keep on working at it and the hits will come.
