Gators well represented at Phillips 66 Nationals

The Phillips 66 Nationals begin on Wednesday at the William Woollett Aquatics Center, in Irvine, California. Caeleb Dressel leads a star-studded field, which features 30 athletes who have worn Gator colors.

This meet will serve as the selection event for the USA National Teams competing at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships, 2019 World Championships, 2019 World University Games, 2019 Pan American Championships, and 2018 Jr. Pan Pacific Championships. Winners at 2018 Nationals will automatically make the Pan Pacs team. Second, third and fourth place finishers in each event will be selected as long as the total number of swimmers does not reach 52.

The 200-meter butterfly opens the Phillips 66 Nationals at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by the 100 free, the women’s 800 free, and the men’s 1500 free. Finals for day one will begin at 6 p.m., all times Pacific Standard Time.
