The Florida softball team will host an NCAA Regional for the 14th consecutive season at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

As the No. 2 seed in this year’s tournament, the Gators will have the opportunity to host an NCAA Super Regional should the team prevail out of the Gainesville Regional. The team would then face the winner out of the College Station Regional.

Joining Florida (50-8) in the Gainesville Regional will be Ohio State (34-14), South Florida (38-21) and Bethune-Cookman (31-24).

Florida, the SEC regular season and tourney champion, will play Bethune-Cookman at 7:30 p.m. Friday after Ohio State opens against South Florida at 5 p.m. in the double-elimination tournament.

Competing in the College Station Regional starting Friday are McNeese vs. Baylor and Prairie View A&M vs. Texas A&M.

Florida has hosted an NCAA Regional every year under the direction of head coach Tim Walton.

  1. The school needs to make sure that Walton and O’Sullivan never leave for a better paying job. They have done wonders with their programs. They are the two consistent bright spots for Gator fans.
