The Houston Texans took a step toward fortifying their defensive front seven Wednesday by signing former Gators and Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins.
The Texans have dealt with injuries and suspensions to key players like J.J. Watt, Whitney Merciless and Brian Cushing this year and hope the five-year NFL veteran can provide some relief at the linebacker position.
This will be Jenkins’ third stint with an NFL team this season having spent time in Oakland’s training camp and spent a week with Buffalo but did not appear in a game.
Wide receiver Deonte Thompson had a great day for the Buffalo Bills just six days after getting cut by the Chicago Bears, as he helped the Bills topple the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 Sunday. Thompson hauled in all four of his targets for 107 yards with a long of 44 yards, a catch that set up the game-winning field goal.
Thompson was cut by the Bears last week and has seemingly found a home with Buffalo
where he and quarterback Tyrod Taylor have some history together. Both played for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012-2013 season and also played on the same team in the U.S. All-American game in high school.
The Bears, who cut Thompson on Monday of last week, completed four passes for 107 yards all game, the same exact amount Thompson had with the Bills in week 7.
Here is the 44-yard catch that set up the game-winning field goal over Tampa Bay:

Defensive end Dante Fowler had four tackles and one-and-a-half sacks for Jacksonville in its road-win over the Indianapolis Colts, 27-0. On the other side, linebacker Antonio Morrison tallied 13 total tackles for the Colts, a season and career-high.
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson snagged five of eight targets for 69 yards with a long of 33 in Kansas City’s loss on Thursday Night Football to the Oakland Raiders, 31-30. Robinson received eight targets which was tied with Kansas City’s leading receiver Tyreek Hill.
Joe Haden had his first interception as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he did it going against one of the top receivers in the NFL and former Georgia Bulldog, A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals. Haden also recorded two pass deflections and a tackle and held Green to a season-low in receptions (3) and yards (41).

the Buffalo Bills in Tampa Bay’s loss. Hargreaves was moved inside by the Buccaneers coaching staff this week to cover slot receivers instead of his usual role of playing outside receivers.
