The University of Florida Athletic Association’s Board of Directors passed a $128.2 million budget Monday, an increase of almost $6 million over last year’s budget.
The budget includes $117 million in operating expenses for the 2017-18 fiscal year. It includes operating expenses of more than $29 million of support services.
Florida also is receiving $6 million, which is going entirely to football and football related costs, in a royalty revenue for its Sept. 2 game against Michigan at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The increase in revenues of $5.5 million — more than half because of increased ticket prices for football and basketball and contractual SEC television increases — does not include the one-time payment for the game.
The UAA also is adding some new expenditures such as the permanent installation of the 3D arena projection system that UF used for the Kentucky home game last season. It will cost $350,000 (vs. the one-time rental fee of about $25,000). It will be used for select men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as gymnastics meets and volleyball matches.
Also approved were LED ribbon boards wrapping the fascia of the end zones at The Swamp, plus additional stadium scoreboards and drink rails in the end zones.
