I have never seen an extra-point attempt so messed up by a kicker and holder EVER!! as this one was.

We didn’t lose because of a missed extra point in the 3rd quarter. We lost because we are a mediocre team.

Speaking of the Gators, Saturday in the Swamp proved the old cliche about football being a game of inches. No. 21 Florida found out the hard way, as Eddy Pineiro’s missed extra point was the difference in the Gators’ 17-16 loss to a woeful LSU team. Florida was full of mistakes — powered mostly by a sterile playbook — but the Gators were upended by a special-teams mistake in a game they should have won.

Difference does not mean reason. Difference is 17 – 16 = 1. The reason is that we are not a very good team right now. The reason is in the rest of that statement above – mistakes, sterile playbook, plus you can add poor coaching and injuries.

There were a lot of freshmen on the field. It’s too bad but they couldn’t grow up faster. We ran out of luck and magic to hide so many missing players.

You can’t fault Pineiro. The ball was mishandled. The 70 yard drive which resulted in a field goal was the difference. 1st goal from the 7 yard line and Nuss blew it.

Dooley sums it it pretty good:
“The bottom line is that missed kick isn’t why Florida lost the game. The Gators had multiple opportunities and could generate nothing on offense after two touchdown drives. We can point to the Knucklehead Nine as a big part of the reason or the injuries to Tyrie Cleveland and Luke Del Rio and a million other things. Those are just excuses.”

Would have never happened if the holder was a black athlete

No matter how you spin it, we missed a field goal by a kicker who can supposedly make one from 70+ yards. No excuse for that kicking unit.
