Haden's 'do' all the talk

On the first day of player interviews Saturday for the BCS Championship Game, Florida cornerback Joe Haden was asked more questions about his haircut than how to defend Oklahoma’s explosive offense.

Haden showed up in South Florida on Friday sporting a Mohawk haircut. On the right side of his head is carved his number (5) next to a star. On the other side, he has BCS with a number 1 next to it.

“I got a Mohawk for the SEC Championship Game and we won that game, so then I decided to get this one,” he said. “It doesn’t guarantee a win, it’s just to show we made it to the championship game.”

Haden said a barber named Tony gave him the haircut back in Gainesville earlier in the week. The barber is known as Mr. T in the business.

When Haden was asked if he knew what BCS stands for, he said, “I really don’t know.”

Haden’s hair drew a lot of questions ” and quite a few stares ” from the reporters and others Saturday.

His coaches and teammates seem to have accepted his new look. Even Urban Meyer.

“Coach Meyer just laughed when he saw it,” Haden said.
