LSU, again, is loaded with talent. Lots of speed, lots of skill all over the field. And, again, the media is enamored by all this talent in Baton Rouge, naming LSU an overwhelming favorite to win the SEC title this season.
As Steve Spurrier has pointed out a few times this summer (and again this week at SEC Media Days), LSU was probably the best and most talented team in the SEC a year ago, but the Tigers didn’t even win the Western Division. Because in the two biggest games of the season ” at Auburn and at Florida ” all that Tiger talent was outplayed by teams that appeared to be better coached.
If Les Miles doesn’t reach Atlanta and doesn’t win a championship this season, he might be in trouble in Baton Rouge.
Great recruiter, can’t win the big games.
That’s a rap no coach wants, but Miles will be hearing it if he doesn’t win the SEC this season.
