During Florida’s bowl preparation last December in Gainesville, I noticed one day that Chris Leak was wearing a brace on his right knee. I had not noticed one before, so I was thinking maybe his knee was banged up or injured.
After practice, I went up to Leak and asked him about it. He said, no, his knee was fine, that the coaches now were having the quarterbacks wear a brace on their push leg in practice just in case someone fell into their legs in practice.
So don’t be concerned about Tebow’s knee. Or Waggener’s or Newton’s. They’re all on two healthy legs at the moment. The knee braces are only precautionary.
