Florida hosting 13 official visitors with Signing Day approaching

The final weekend before National Signing Day is poised to be a big one for the Gators.

 

Update: The Gators are hosting three-star linebacker Lacedrick Brunson (Miami, Fl.). Brunson holds scholarship offers from just Arkansas and Florida Atlantic, and the Florida visit is his lone official visit.

Four-star running back Adarius Lemons (Clearwater, Fl.) has had an up and down recruitment by the Gators, but his future has started to clear up.

Lemons will be on campus Friday for an official visit, and UF’s coaching staff remains confident the state’s No. 1 running back will qualify for university enrollment.

Four-star defensive back Brad Stewart (New Orleans, La.) shut down his recruitment in Fall to focus on his senior season.

But with Signing Day approaching quickly, Stewart is nearing his decision.

Florida remains a favorite for his signature, and the Gators coaching staff has a chance to make a strong impression when Stewart arrives in Gainesville on Friday for an official visit.

LaBryan Ray (Madison, Ala.) has hosted both Nick Saban and Jim McElwain this week, and it appears Ray’s decision will come down to the Gators and Crimson Tide.

The four-star defensive end will be in Gainesville this weekend for his final official visit as Florida looks to coax Ray out of his home state.

Breyon and Brandon Gaddy (Norfolk, Va.) remain committed to Maryland, but the Gators have made a strong push recently to sign the pair of highly recruited defensive linemen.

The twins arrived in Gainesville on Friday for their official visits, marking the first time either has had an opportunity to see the UF campus.

Ray and the Gaddy twins are just a few of the defensive line prospects Florida will host this weekend.

Devonte Wyatt (Decatur, Ga.) will take an official visit to Florida, but the Gators trail fellow SEC programs South Carolina and Georgia for his signature.

Four-star defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson (Houston, Tx.) will likely join new Texas coach Tom Herman’s Longhorns unit, but he’ll give the Gators his final official visit this weekend. Looking to make a decision, the Under Armour All-American has taken four visits in the previous 14 days.

Zalontae Hillery, a 6-foot-6 offensive tackle out of Brunswick, Georgia, will take an official visit to Florida this weekend.

With the Gators yet to name an offensive line coach, McElwain and staff will look to pitch Hillery the possibility of early playing time on a line that has been no stranger to youth in recent seasons.

Four-star wide receiver Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill, Tx.) has been committed to Oklahoma for 10 months, but his final decision will come down to Signing Day.

The Gators only offered Rambo a mere 10 days ago, however, and the program will have a chance for a last-minute flip with Rambo in Gainesville for an official visit.

It’s been a busy week for Miramar cornerback Brian Edwards.

After receiving in-home visits from Miami (Fl.) and Louisville earlier in the week, Edwards is headed north Friday for an official visit at Florida.

Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald (Lakeland, Fl.) holds just seven offers, but Florida’s coaching staff is intrigued by his potential.

The Nigerian-born Abadi-Fitzgerald is also a promising basketball prospect, and his recruitment will seemingly come down to the Gators and Kentucky.

After receiving a visit from UF coach Jim McElwain on Wednesday, Abadi-Fitzgerald will be in Gainesville on Friday for an official visit.

He may have received a offer late Thursday, but three-star safety Donovan Stiner will be in Gainesville this weekend for an official visit at UF.

The Houston commit has seemingly re-opened his recruitment following the departure of head coach Tom Herman, and the Gators will have to battle the Longhorn and Cougars for his signature.
