Gators hosting four visitors, headlined by five-star offensive lineman

The Gators are playing host to four official visitors this weekend, headlined by five-star offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood.

The Pensacola native is fresh off an official visit to Auburn and he’ll wrap up his weekend in Gainesville.

Florida has been trying to flip Leatherwood from Alabama throughout his recruitment, and the latest effort came with an in-home visit Monday from Gators head coach Jim McElwain.

Leatherwood will announce his final commitment on Dec. 16.

Along with the elite offensive lineman, Florida’s staff has a trio of verbal commits in Gainesville for official visits.

Four-star offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort arrived on campus Friday afternoon for his official visit.

The 6-foot-7 prospect is coming off an official visit to Louisville, and the Gators will look to shore up his commitment and keep him away from Bobby Petrino and the Cardinals while fending off coach Mark Richt at Miami.

A pair of Miami Southridge commits plan on arriving in Gainesville late Saturday night after their Class 8A Championship bout against Dr. Phillips (Orlando).

Defensive back Shawn Davis and tight end Kemore Gamble will take official visits late Saturday into Sunday.

The pair plan on enrolling early at Florida on Jan. 4 to be on campus for Spring practice.
