Davis appeared set to commit to the University of North Carolina or Miami (FL.), but an offer Friday from the Gators gave him a change of heart.
The No. 57 overall running back in the 2017 class by 247Sports, Davis camped in Gainesville on July 22 for Friday Night Lights, UF’s annual recruiting showcase.

Davis’ commitment comes less than 24 hours after four-star Clearwater running back Adarius Lemons announced his decision to decommit from the Gators due to academic issues.
With Davis’ decision, which is non-binding until he signs a National Letter of Intent, the Gators have 16 verbal commitments in the 2017 class.
