The bye week has allowed Florida coach Jim McElwain and his staff to hit the recruiting trail in full force this week.

McElwain visited four 2016 recruits on Monday, three of whom are committed to other schools.

He and tights ends coach Greg Nord went to Crawfordville Wakulla for LSU quarterback commit Feleipe Franks and wide receiver Keith Gavin.

McElwain also spent the day seeing WR Eli Stove (Auburn commit) and defensive end Janarius Robinson (Florida State commit).

Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was in the D.C. area for QB Dwayne Haskins (Maryland commit), OL Terrance Davis, DE Terrell Hall, LB Aaron Hansford and LB Keandre Jones (Maryland commit). Franks and Haskins are the priorities for McElwain and Nussmeier and they’re still hoping to get one or both of them on campus for an official visit.

Kerry Dixon II is in South Florida today visiting some of the region’s best receivers — Sam Bruce (Miami commit), Josh Hammond (Florida commit), Binjimen Victor and 2017 prospect Jerry Jeudy. Dixon saw Tre Nixon and UF verbal Isaiah Johnson on Monday.

Secondary coach Kirk Callahan went to Alabama on Monday for five-star linebacker Mack Wilson and his close friend, Florida safety commit Jeawon Taylor. Callahan is spending Tuesday seeing two cornerbacks, one formerly committed to the Gators (Tyler Byrd) and a recent pledge (McArthur Burnett).

Defensive line coach Chris Rumph started off the week by visiting five highly-touted recruits at his position in DT Michail Carter, DT Antwuan Jackson, DE Janarius Robinson (FSU commit), DE Jordan Smith (South Carolina commit) and 2017 DE Zachary Carter.

Linebackers coach Randy Shannon hit South Florida for tight end Nick Eubanks, defensive ends Brian Burns, Joseph Jackson (Miami commit) and Eric Mitchell (Florida commit), and linebackers Vosean Joseph (Florida commit) and Joshua Uche (Miami commit).

Running backs coach Tim Skipper spend Monday in Kansas for UF commit Mark Thompson and traveled to Louisiana on Tuesday for CB Kristian Fulton and TE Jamal Pettigrew (LSU commit). In addition to his stop with McElwain, Nord paid a visit to tight ends Darel Middleton and Thaddeus Moss.
