Florida won more than just a game Saturday.
It was a huge recruiting weekend for the Gators, with over 20 Rivals250 members for 2016 and 2017 in The Swamp.
UF coach Jim McElwain said he and his staff got great feedback from the visitors who were in attendance for the 28-27 win over Tennessee.
“Well, I’ll tell you what, the buzz and the amount of guys that were just here (was big),” McElwain said. “The environment there again, I credit Gator Nation for that.
“We’ll see how it pans out come February, but it’s sure something that we were excited about. And yet, you know, it’s a long season to go.”
Florida should have another big recruiting turnout against No. 3 Ole Miss, and the regular season finale against Florida State always attracts the state’s best talent.
More momentum will come, but it might be hard for the Gators to top the atmosphere and recruiting impact from Saturday.
