Shavar Manuel visited Florida this weekend for the second time in as many months.

The five-star defensive tackle from Bradenton IMG Academy attended Friday Night Lights in late July and named the Gators one of his top teams.

He returned to The Swamp on Saturday for his first UF game, which didn’t disappoint.

“I enjoyed myself from the time I got here until now leaving,” Manuel said. “I had a blast tonight, I really did. It was crazy from top to bottom.

“The defense was amazing and the offense was clicking in the second half. They deserved to win and that’s why they came out on top.”

Florida’s offense made all the highlight plays in the 28-27 win over Tennessee, but Chris Rumph’s defensive line stood out to Manuel.

“They just were hitting on all cylinders,” he said. “I thought they were hunting the quarterback and doing their jobs. Florida deserved that win. I was amazed with what I saw throughout the night and how those boys fought. It was just a blessing.”

The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder said he doesn’t have a leader but Florida, LSU, Auburn and Florida State are his top schools. He’ll see two of his favorites in action next month.

“I believe the next visit will be my official visit when LSU takes on Florida,” Manuel said. “That will be an official visit. I know how Florida plays football and LSU has been hitting on all cylinders as well, so it will be a good game that’s won in the trenches.”

Manuel could be back in Gainesville for another game this fall, but he plans to officially visit UF after the regular season.

“I haven’t set one yet (for Florida),” Manuel said. “They want me to come in after the games are over so I can spend more one-on-one time with the coaches and players.”
