JaQuan Bailey will attend Friday Night Lights on July 24.

JaQuan Bailey made it to Gainesville for the start of Florida’s summer camps Friday, but he didn’t come for the linemen camp.

The Gators defensive end commit instead chose to join his Jacksonville Raines team in the 7-on-7 tournament.

Several UF coaches had their eyes on him during the games.

“I was kind of nervous, but I still had fun,” Bailey  said. “It was a great opportunity to play in front of them.”

Miami, North Carolina and Virginia Tech are still actively recruiting Bailey and will receive visits from him this summer. However, he claims his commitment is solid to UF.

“It just feels like home,” Bailey said. “It was a dream come true to finally get the offer and become a Gator, and now I get to come here as a commit. It’s a great feeling. Florida is where I want to be.”

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder plans to return to Gainesville at least twice this year.

“I’m coming back down to work out at defensive line and I’ll be here for Friday Night Lights, so I’m looking forward to that,” Bailey said. “I’ll make my official visit when Florida plays Florida State.”
