Florida staff going all in during contact period

Florida’s assistant coaches will hit the recruiting trail in full force over the next two weeks.

The contact period opened Sunday and lasts until Dec. 14. A month-long dead period will follow that, and then the contacts period resumes Jan. 15 and ends Jan. 31.

The contact period allows the coaches to have six in-person visits with recruits. They’re allowed to see them once a week, and the head coach can have only one in-home visit during the contact period.

Barring a hire in the next few days, the lone visit recruits can get from Florida’s head coach will likely happen during the second half of the contact period in January.

With no head coach in place right now, UF director of player personnel Drew Hughes will be on the road with assistants D.J. Durkin, Coleman Hutzler, Brad Lawing, Chris Leak, Derek Lewis, Travaris Robinson, Kurt Roper, Mike Summers and Brian White.

  1. Some have asked why UF doesn’t have an indoor practice facility for football yet?
(my answer is that the weather in Gainesville, FL doesn’t require it,,, wussies) ;~)

But maybe it’s because UF is busy being a Total Sports Program. S.I. named UF the ‘Mountain Top’ of College Sports. UF is the ONLY University in the Nation to finish in the Top 10 for the Directors Cup for the past 30 Consecutive Years, while they all but OWN all of the SEC’s All Sports Trophies.

Clown-U or the Premier University in Florida (AAU) that is busy seeking Preeminence as a ‘Top 10 in the Nation Public University.’ Over the past decade, UF has added 3.1 Million square feet of building space, including more than 600,000 square feet dedicated to research.
Let the Clown-U ‘phootball factory’ types build their indoor practice facilities, while UF continues to build the University of Florida into the BEST there is at everything that a University is supposed to be, including an All Sports ‘Mountain Top’ of championship programs.
Note: UF has the only 2 Heisman Winners to have also been awarded the Campbell/Draddy – ‘Academic Heisman’ Trophy. UF also has the only Heisman QB in the past 25 years to have also won an NFL Playoff game.

The recruits that ONLY have phootball in their futures can go to a Clown-U, while UF will continue to be much more, along with being a long proven gateway to the NFL. At UF, if the NFL doesn’t end up being in your future, you’ll still have a very viable, successful future in the fast expanding Gator Nation.
