Florida wide receiver commitment Derrick Dillon led his Franklinton (La.) Pine team to a memorable victory last Friday.
His Raiders won their first playoff game in school history, defeating Greensburg (La.) St. Helena Central, 28-20.
Dillon scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. With under two minutes remaining in regulation, the game was tied at 20 and Pine faced third-and-12.
Dillon, who plays quarterback for the Raiders, called his own number and ran 51 yards for the go-ahead score. He also converted the two-point attempt.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder finished the game with 226 yards rushing and four touchdown runs, including a 77-yarder.
QB Sheriron Jones, Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde: Jones threw three touchdown passes in a 52-16 win over Menifee (Calif.) Paloma Valley.
WR Kalif Jackson, Neptune Beach Fletcher: Jackson caught two passes for 60 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 33-7 victory over Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge.
TE Camrin Knight, Tallahassee Lincoln: Knight finished his senior year with 12 catches for 162 yards and two scores, including a 32-yard touchdown catch in Friday’s season-ending loss.
DT Andrew Ivie, Dade City Pasco: Ivie recorded 59 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and a safety in his senior campaign.
Hope we can hang on to him and the rest of these guys.
