Jacksonville Ed White athlete Javarius Davis camped Wednesday at Florida with hopes of adding another scholarship offer to his growing list.
Though he’s a consensus three-star prospect, Davis has picked up offers from Missouri, Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA and USC in recent weeks.
The Gators worked him out as a running back, receiver and return man, and Davis tweeted that he ran a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash.
“They were telling me I’m a great athlete, just seeing what position fits me best,” Davis said. “They liked me at receiver, so it was pretty good.
“They said they loved my workout today. Said I had great speed, very versatile. We’ll see (if they offer).”
Davis first visited UF on Feb. 1 for junior day, and his latest trip increased his interest in the school.
“I love the atmosphere,” he said. “They’re a great coaching staff. They get on you. I love that because it makes me a better player. Hopefully they offer me and we’ll see where it goes.”
Davis named Ohio State and North Carolina as schools that are standing out, but said he’s still open and also wants to land offers from Auburn and Florida State.
“I’m trying to make the decision by August if I find the right school,” Davis said. “Me and my mom are going to talk about it and narrow the list down and see what school is the best fit for me and her.”

I’m digging this dudes tape. He seem well developed with the ball in his hands or playn CB. I like the thought of him returning kicks and punts
loaded at that position for next few years- more inportant things to worry about
Yea, we’re loaded with 4.38 speed…brilliant.
You can never have too many athletes that run sub 4.4 seconds. If he can catch, it will be deadly in the slot.
Yeah, we have to offer this kid!
We’re loaded at what position? This kid is a hitter on defense and a home run threat on offense.
Lets get this kid. Speed. GoGators.
If they feel he is a game breaker, they have to try and get him. Can not have too many players who can make big plays.
He has what can’t be coached.
Offer.
Yeah, I say why wait…offer. This kind of player will find somewhere to get on the field. He hits like a freight train on defense and runs pretty well with the ball in his hand so why not.
