After three weekends of bringing in some big-name recruits for spring practices, Florida will cap off the visits this Saturday with the Orange & Blue Debut.
The Gators are hosting more than a dozen prospects for the game, including four of their 2015 commits in receivers Deondre Farrier and Tristan Payton, tight end Camrin Knight and offensive lineman Tyler Jordan.
Tampa Sickles athlete Ray-Ray McCloud III is making his third trip to UF this spring and will be on commitment watch. Linebacker Adonis Thomas (Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) returns to Gainesville after visiting the last weekend of March and naming Florida his leader.
A pair of out-of-state Rivals100 members will make the trip in quarterback Kelly Bryant (Piedmont, S.C./Wren) and offensive lineman Javon Patterson (Petal, Miss./Petal). Both were offered by the Gators in recent months.
Another newly-offered prospect with plans to visit is Orlando West Orange cornerback Jalen Julius, who checked out a practice this spring. Rivals250 cornerback Octavis Johnson (Homerville, Ga./Clinch County) will also be on hand and has yet to receive an offer from Florida.
Some notable three-star recruits attending are linebacker Austin Smith (Suwanee, Ga./Buford), receiver Auden Tate (Tampa Wharton) and offensive lineman Brendan Loftus (Tallahassee Godby). Smith calls UF his top school, while Tate and Loftus have visited in the past but are still looking for offers.
Saturday’s offensive fireworks signals a new, much brighter era ahead for Will Muschamp’s Gators. Along with the reputation for staunch defense he’s already established at Florida, Coach Muschamp wi be reeling in a high level class of recruits on both sides of the line in this new recruiting cycle. We should be consumed with hope for this season ahead and even moreso for what lies ahead.
